In 2005 following the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) it became a legal requirement for all buildings to have a Fire Risk Assessment carried out. This assessment will include a detailed analysis of all ducting systems, there efficiency, legality and cleanliness. Fire services and Forensic Fire investigators often report Kitchen Grease Extraction and associated ducting as being the original source of fire or propagation route of fire within buildings.
Ventpro ltd work in partnership with "Saltire Safety Solutions Ltd" - An industry leading supplier of fire safety and risk assessments. This ensures that at every stage we are compliant and continuously "Raising Standards" within our industry.
Due to this inherent risk the majority of Insurance companies now stipulate that "all" ventilation systems must be regularly maintained by trained professionals and certified. Failure to comply with these stipulations will lead to Insurance being deemed null and void even if the claim is not associated with ventilation maintenance.
Recommended cleaning frequency for commercial kitchen extraction and ventilation systems:
Heavy use: 12 - 16 hours per day = 3 monthly clean
Medium use: 6 - 12 hours per day = 6 monthly clean
Light use: 2 - 6 hours per day = 12 monthly clean
